OptOutDay Privacy Policy
Last updated: 03.10.2026
OptOutDay helps individuals identify and request the removal, suppression, or opt-out of their personal information from supported data broker websites, people-search websites, and similar third-party services. Where included in a purchased plan, we also monitor supported websites for reappearing listings.
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit optoutday.com, use our removal and privacy management services, or communicate with us online or offline (collectively, the "Services"). It also covers any OptOutDay application that links to this Policy.
OptOutDay ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Dilangi, Inc., Majuro, Marshall Islands MH96960, which is responsible for the personal information processed for the purposes described here.
We do not sell personal information, operate a public people-search directory through the Services, or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We collect information needed to manage authorized privacy requests, operate accounts, process payments, and protect and support the Services.
Our Terms and Conditions of Service explain service coverage, authorization, payment, and cancellation. This Policy provides privacy disclosures; reading it or visiting the Site does not constitute blanket consent to optional processing or a waiver of your privacy rights. We request separate consent where required.
1. Two Different Types of Privacy Requests
Requests to other websites: As part of the Services, you authorize OptOutDay to help submit privacy requests to supported third parties. Those websites control their own records and responses. Their privacy policies and applicable laws govern how they process a request and any information they receive.
Requests to OptOutDay: You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete information that OptOutDay itself holds about you. These requests are handled under this Policy and applicable law. You do not need to purchase a plan or create an account to exercise your rights concerning information held by OptOutDay.
Deleting information from OptOutDay does not automatically delete it from another website. Likewise, a third-party removal request does not automatically delete your OptOutDay account or the records needed to manage your Services.
2. Personal Information We Collect
Account and Contact Information
We collect information you provide when registering, contacting us, or managing a subscription, such as your name, email address, telephone number, account authentication information, communication preferences, and plan details.
Information Used to Locate Listings
We collect the details you provide to identify records belonging to you, such as current and previous names, current and former addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, and listing URLs. Where needed to distinguish people with similar information, we may request limited additional details, such as an age range or date of birth. We explain why additional information is needed.
If a plan allows you to enroll another adult, we collect that person's information only for the authorized service and require appropriate permission. Paying for a plan does not automatically entitle the payer to another person's listing details, verification documents, or private correspondence.
Authorization and Verification Information
We collect records of your instructions and permissions, including signed authorizations, their scope and dates, and any revocation. When reasonably necessary for a particular verification requirement, we may process supporting documents or a verification result.
Government-issued identifiers, identity documents, account credentials, and certain other information may be sensitive personal information under applicable law. We limit their collection and use to the specific verification, security, or service purpose requiring them and obtain any legally required consent.
Do not send passwords, full Social Security numbers, payment credentials, or unredacted identity documents through ordinary email. If documentation is needed, we will explain the purpose and appropriate submission method. You may redact details that are not necessary for the stated requirement.
Listings and Request Records
When carrying out authorized searches, we may receive information from supported websites, publicly accessible listings, and service providers assisting with the searches. Relevant records may include names, contact information, approximate age, relatives or household associations, employment details, listing URLs, and other information appearing in a matching record.
We use these records to identify the correct listing and manage your request, rather than to create profiles for sale or unrelated marketing. Listings can be inaccurate or refer to someone else. We limit collection of unrelated information and do not intentionally build dossiers on relatives or other people mentioned in a listing.
We maintain request dates, receiving websites, submitted information, responses, verification requirements, follow-up actions, and status observations. A status may reflect a third-party response or a check performed at a particular time; it is not proof that all copies of information have been deleted.
Payment and Transaction Information
Payments are handled by payment processors. We receive information needed to administer purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and payment disputes, such as billing contact details, transaction identifiers, payment status, and limited payment-method information or tokens. We do not store full payment card numbers or card security codes in OptOutDay account records.
Technical and Usage Information
When you use the Services, we may collect IP addresses, browser and device characteristics, operating system, timestamps, pages or features used, error logs, session identifiers, and cookie preferences. An IP address may indicate an approximate location. We do not collect precise GPS location or continuously track your physical movements through the Services.
Technical identifiers can be personal information even if they do not contain your name. We do not describe cookie identifiers, IP addresses, or hashed email addresses as anonymous merely because a direct name has been removed.
Support and Feedback
We collect information you send in support requests, complaints, correspondence, and voluntary feedback. Support messages and removal instructions are not public content. We do not publish an identifiable testimonial or customer story without permission.
3. How We Use Personal Information
- Establish and manage accounts, plans, and authorized access.
- Match your identifying details to relevant listings and reduce mistaken requests.
- Prepare, submit, track, and follow up on authorized deletion, suppression, and opt-out requests.
- Perform repeat checks and further requests where included in an active plan.
- Verify identity and authority where necessary and document permission or revocation.
- Process payments, renewals, refunds, and billing disputes.
- Provide support and communicate request progress, required actions, security alerts, and service changes.
- Maintain security, investigate abuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve service reliability and usability.
- Send optional communications about OptOutDay where permitted, subject to your choices and any required consent.
- Respond to privacy requests, comply with legal obligations, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not use identity documents, discovered listings, or removal-request contents for advertising. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising across unrelated websites or for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant decisions about you. Automated matching may assist in locating listings; you may contact us to correct a mistaken match.
If information is required to perform an authorized request and you choose not to provide it, we will explain which part of the service cannot proceed. Declining optional marketing or optional analytics does not prevent you from purchasing removal Services.
4. Disclosures to Other Parties
Websites Receiving Your Privacy Requests
To carry out your instructions, we disclose the information reasonably necessary to locate the relevant record and process the request, such as a name, listing URL, matching address, contact details, or proof of authorization. We do not routinely send your entire account profile or every identity document to every website.
A website may require direct confirmation from you. Where practical, we may ask you to complete verification directly rather than send additional sensitive information through us. A recipient may retain limited identifying details to maintain suppression or document compliance. Requesting suppression can therefore require continued limited retention by that recipient.
Receiving websites are generally independent businesses, rather than our service providers. We cannot guarantee their compliance or control their subsequent handling of information. We remain responsible for our own disclosures and obligations.
Service Providers
We use providers for hosting, storage, security, communications, customer support, payment processing, and assistance with authorized removal work. We give providers access only to information needed for their functions and require appropriate privacy, security, confidentiality, and use restrictions. Technical analytics providers may receive technical usage information subject to the restrictions in Section 5.
For example, a payment processor receives payment-related information, while a provider assisting with a removal request receives the relevant request details. These operational disclosures do not authorize providers to sell your information or use it for their own unrelated advertising.
People You Authorize
We may disclose information to an agent or other person you have validly authorized, within the scope of that authority. We verify permission where appropriate and do not treat family relationships or payment for a plan as unrestricted authorization.
Legal, Security, and Business Matters
We may disclose relevant information when legally required, in response to valid legal process, to investigate fraud or serious security incidents, to protect individuals from harm, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, as permitted by applicable law. We limit disclosures to what is reasonably necessary for the purpose.
Personal information may be disclosed in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal protections. This does not authorize selling customer information as a standalone data product. A successor must handle the information consistently with this Policy and applicable law; any materially different use requires the notices and consent required by law.
5. Cookies, Analytics, and Privacy Signals
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, account sessions, security, and remembering choices. Where optional analytics is used, its purpose is to measure service performance and usability. We do not use advertising cookies to build cross-site advertising profiles or permit analytics providers to reuse personal information from the Services for that purpose.
Removal-request contents, identity documents, and discovered listing details are not sent to analytics tools. Optional analytics must operate consistently with your choices and applicable consent requirements.
You can manage available non-essential cookie choices through the Site's privacy controls and change your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Where consent is required, non-essential cookies are not activated before consent. Blocking cookies needed for authentication or security may prevent some functions from working. Changing cookie preferences does not itself delete account or service records already held by us.
We honor Global Privacy Control ("GPC") and other legally recognized opt-out preference signals as required by applicable law. Because we do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or process it for targeted advertising, those activities remain disabled regardless of whether you transmit a signal. A GPC signal is not an instruction to cancel a plan, delete your account, or send removal requests to other websites.
Traditional "Do Not Track" ("DNT") headers are different from GPC. We do not currently change our practices in response to DNT headers. This does not affect our treatment of legally recognized opt-out signals.
6. Communications and Your Choices
We use your contact details for account notices, request verification, progress updates, receipts, billing, security, and support. Providing an email address or telephone number does not by itself authorize unrelated marketing, prerecorded marketing calls, or automated marketing texts.
You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using their unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Optional text or telephone programs, if offered, will explain their terms and request any required consent separately. Withdrawal of optional marketing consent does not cancel your Services.
Necessary service communications may continue after you unsubscribe from marketing. Contact us if you need to change your contact method. Following account closure, limited communications may still be necessary to complete your request, address a transaction, or comply with law.
7. Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the disclosed purposes, taking account of its sensitivity, the Services requested, applicable legal requirements, and whether less information would meet the same need. We apply the following retention criteria:
- Account and matching information: While needed to operate your account and provide authorized Services, followed by deletion or de-identification when no longer necessary, subject to applicable exceptions.
- Identity documentation: Only as long as needed for the relevant verification and any required recordkeeping. Where sufficient, we retain a verification result instead of the underlying document.
- Authorizations and request histories: While needed to manage requests and follow-up work, and afterward only to document authorized actions, resolve disputes, or meet legal requirements.
- Billing records: For applicable tax, accounting, payment-dispute, and legal recordkeeping periods. Retaining a transaction record does not require retaining a full removal profile.
- Security and technical logs: For the period needed to detect and investigate incidents, diagnose faults, and maintain reliable operation.
- Support records: For the period needed to resolve the issue and address related service or legal matters.
- Preference records: Limited information needed to honor a continuing unsubscribe, consent withdrawal, or other privacy choice.
Where law requires a specific retention period or more detailed notice, we provide it in the applicable collection notice or response. You may contact us for information about the retention criteria applicable to your records.
Following a valid deletion request, we delete personal information covered by the request and instruct relevant service providers to do so as required by law. We explain any applicable exception. We do not replace deletion with merely hiding a record from view.
Residual copies may remain in backups until scheduled rotation or deletion. They are restricted from ordinary use, except where needed for recovery, security, or legal requirements. If backups are restored, applicable deletion instructions are reapplied. We do not promise that backup copies are technically inaccessible.
Information retained under a lawful exception is limited to the permitted purpose and deleted when that basis expires. Hashing, encrypting, or removing a name does not by itself make information anonymous or satisfy a deletion request.
8. Canceling Services, Revoking Authority, and Closing an Account
Canceling renewal stops future renewal charges. Unless you request an immediate stop or revoke authority, Services continue through the paid period as described in the Terms.
Revoking authority ends our permission to make new requests or continue monitoring for the affected individual. We stop that work promptly and cancel future renewal of the affected individual's Services, consistent with the Terms. Revocation does not necessarily recall requests already received by third parties.
Closing your account or deleting required service information may prevent further work. We will explain the effect and stop affected Services and their future renewals when the account is closed. Refunds and existing payment obligations are handled under the Terms and applicable law. Limited records may remain under the retention rules above.
We do not withdraw a third-party opt-out or suppression request merely because you cancel. Stopping monitoring may allow new or reappearing listings to go undetected.
9. Your Privacy Rights and How to Exercise Them
Depending on your residence, the information involved, and whether a law applies to our processing, you may have rights to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal information and obtain access or a portable copy.
- Learn the categories of information, sources, purposes, and recipients involved in our processing.
- Correct inaccurate information and request deletion.
- Opt out of sale, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, targeted advertising, or specified profiling, where applicable.
- Limit certain uses of sensitive information or withdraw consent where processing depends on it.
- Appeal a denial where provided by law and complain to a competent privacy regulator.
Please describe your request and provide enough information for us to locate relevant records. We may ask your state or country of residence to identify the applicable process. Do not include sensitive documentation in your initial email.
We acknowledge and respond within the periods required by the applicable law. If a permitted extension is necessary, we explain the reason and revised deadline. We do not restart or extend a statutory deadline merely because verification is pending. If we cannot fulfill all or part of a request, we explain the reason and available appeal options.
Requests are generally free. We charge a fee or decline a repetitive, excessive, or unfounded request only where permitted by law and explain the basis before charging.
We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. If you ask us to delete information essential to a service, that service may become impossible to provide; we will explain this functional consequence rather than penalize you for making the request.
10. Verification and Authorized Agents
For requests that require verification, we use reasonable measures proportionate to the sensitivity of the data and the risk of unauthorized access or deletion. We prefer matching information already held and request additional information only where necessary. Information collected solely for verification is used for that purpose and related security or legally required recordkeeping, then deleted when no longer needed.
We do not impose identity-verification requirements on opt-out requests or preference signals where the applicable law prohibits them. An email alias or privacy relay address is not, by itself, grounds for rejecting a request. We may need a reliable way to communicate or match the request to our records.
You may appoint an authorized agent where permitted by law. We may require signed permission or another legally sufficient authorization and, where permitted, direct confirmation or identity verification from you. A copy of an identity document by itself does not establish an agent's authority. We apply any legal exceptions for a valid power of attorney and accept valid electronic authorizations.
These procedures concern requests made to OptOutDay. When OptOutDay acts as your agent in contacting another website, that website may have its own lawful verification requirements, and we obtain any additional authorization needed for the request.
11. Additional U.S. State Disclosures
State privacy laws differ in their coverage, definitions, exceptions, and available rights. The categories, sources, purposes, recipient categories, and retention criteria for the Services are described in Sections 2 through 7. We respond to applicable state rights without limiting requests to a fixed list of states.
California: Where the CCPA applies, relevant categories may include identifiers; customer records such as contact and billing information; commercial information; internet or network activity; approximate geolocation; and, where present in a relevant listing or verification record, age or other protected characteristics, professional information, and sensitive personal information. We use and disclose these categories only for the purposes described in this Policy. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, including information concerning minors, and do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you or for purposes beyond providing the requested Services and other purposes permitted without a right to limit under applicable California law. Where a right to limit applies, you may exercise it through the contact methods above. You may request information about our collection and disclosures during the period covered by your applicable access rights, including practices before a revision to this Policy.
Recipient information: Where applicable law entitles you to identify specific third-party recipients, including under Oregon law, you may request that information through the same channels. We provide the level of detail required by the law applicable to your request.
Appeals: To appeal a denial, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy Request Appeal," identify the decision, and explain why you believe it should be reconsidered. We respond within the applicable appeal period. If an appeal is denied, we explain how to contact the relevant regulator where required. You may contact your state Attorney General or other competent regulator without first purchasing Services or obtaining our permission.
12. Security, Pseudonymous Data, and De-Identified Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted transmission and access restrictions appropriate to its sensitivity. No system is completely secure. This limitation does not waive our security obligations or your legal rights.
We treat pseudonymous information as personal information when it can reasonably be linked to a person. Where we create de-identified statistics, we take reasonable measures to prevent identification, maintain them in de-identified form, and do not attempt re-identification except where legally permitted to test the effectiveness of de-identification. Recipients of such data must be subject to appropriate restrictions.
13. International Processing
The Services focus on supported websites serving the United States. The operating company is located in the Marshall Islands, and information may be processed in other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws from your place of residence.
Where applicable law requires safeguards or a particular legal mechanism for an international transfer, we use those protections. Your use of the Services is not treated as a blanket waiver of transfer requirements. Contact us for information about the processing locations and safeguards relevant to your information.
14. Children and Information About Other People
Accounts and removal Services are intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly enroll minors or invite them to submit personal information. Third-party listings may incidentally mention children or other household members; we limit handling of that information to what is necessary to identify and address an authorized adult's listing.
If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us, contact us. We will investigate and delete information collected inappropriately, subject to applicable legal requirements. Do not submit information for a child through an adult enrollment process.
15. Third-Party Links
Links to data brokers, payment services, or other external websites lead to independently operated services. Review their privacy notices before providing information. Merely including a link does not authorize us to disclose your removal profile to that website.
16. Changes to This Policy
We update this Policy when our practices or applicable requirements change and identify the effective date above. For material changes, we provide appropriate notice, such as an account notification or prominent website notice. We obtain consent before a new use where required by law. Posting a revision does not retroactively authorize an incompatible use of information already collected.
